Stewardship... does it have to include me?

Hey... maybe i can keep this up... two posts in one week :)
Things are going well here... schools busy but oh well... that's the life of a student :)

I'm not quite sure what to tell you today... Mrs. Sam, nothing exciting has been happening to me :) .. Oh! Actually there is something. I went to a seminar last night by Cal DeWitt, a Chrisitan environmentalist who wholeheartedly embraces the idea of stewardship... that Christians have a calling to protect and care for creation. It was really really good and he raised a lot of practical points... from recycling to urban planning to climate change... lots of things but the main thread through his talk was the idea that Christians MUST care for creation... its not an option for those who have a natural bend towards the sciences... but its a calling for all of us. That really got me, and I'm even in the sciences! I suppose the biggest thing for me is why care? Why do it when i'm only one person? Will it make that big of a difference? But its not about the difference (although something should happen) but its about being faithful. Even if my garbage man doesn't notice an increase in my recycling, God knows and that should be reason enough. Anyway... some random thots that i'm struggling with today because i really don't want to be stewardly but i keep coming to the conclusion that i am called to be a steward... and not just in creational care but in money and time and relationships... basically every area of life. I suppose stewardship is just the natural compliment to responsibility, something that i know is a part of true life. Anyway... i've come to the end of my thots and i need to scoot! Happy thinking :)
Love!
