Two Weeks Already Gone... sigh...

Hello everyone!
Hope all is good with everyone!
so its the end of week two and oh wow does time ever fly! I cannot beleive that I've been here already for two weeks... in so many ways I feel as though I know what I'm doing (showing people how to use the railway system or getting asked directions in Oxford) and yet still having times of culture shock (garbage is called rubbish here and checking both ways to cross the street not because I have too but because I don't know which direction the traffic is coming from). But all things considered it is definitely good!
I hear that Ontario got dumped on with snow and are in the midst of our famous Canadian winters... we on the other hand have been having lots of sun shine and just wonderful weather! A little on the cool side but not bad at all! So I'm thinking that not bringing an umbrella wasn't such a bad idea :)

So it has been a while since my last post... lately all we have really been doing is just getting used to using the Bodleian Library (which gets so much easier after a lot of use) and keeping up with classes and readings... you know, regular school stuff.
But last night was an exception! I think I posted that a few of us girls have been invited to sing in the Regent's Park Choir. Last night we had the awesome opportunity to sing in the Sheldonian Theatre in downtown Oxford!!! This theater is so beautiful and just oozes class and beauty! It was so exciting and the sound was just beautiful! The Archbishop of York was there to speak (second in command in the Anglican Church of England). He was a great to hear and even played the bongo drums with us on some of our songs. It was really, really good and it was just really neat to be there and experience it! As well, being a part of the choir has helped to get involved in the Regents group a little bit more which is nice.

Anyway, next week will be a lot more work and then London for the weekend - which I am supper excited about!
Hope you have a great Saturday and a relaxing Sunday!
Julie

P.S. For all the ppl going to the El Salvador Trivia Night (or organizing it) you are in my thoughts today... have a great night!

Just taking a break from preparing the questions for trivia night tonight. I thought I would take a look at what you are up to. It sounds great, exciting and life changing. Enjoy the experience, the learning environment and the people. Live life, God has blessed us with a great one. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm so excited about your time in England, it sounds so exciting so far!! The Trivia night went really well, a lot better then i thought it would be. We ended up have 16 tables (not all of them filled up but quite a bit of em') so it was a success...I'm so happy to hear that you're doing well and God Bless!!

Hey julie,
great to read about your adventure - must be fantastic to walk about that library knowing that all the books are beneath you, any book you want.
enjoy the city and keep up the updates. Also glad to hear that you can be part of the choir - so cool
enjoy every minute and be a blessing
